The Karatu region is a great place to take in the sights and smells! Here, the landscapes offer an incredible palette of reds, thanks to this very special and fertile land. The vegetation is rather tropical, with a lot of agriculture and especially large coffee plantations. Coffee lovers won't be able to resist a cup of Tanzanian coffee, said to be one of the best in the world. Karatu is a lively, colorful little village, especially in the main street, where the Masai come to sell their cows and goats. There are also many small traders and craftsmen selling souvenirs, paintings, jewelry and traditional ornaments.
